Rust

Steel is one of the most versatile materials known. It can be cut and welded and can be shaped into any imaginable shape by forging, casting and drawing. It is the most widely used metal in the world and today's society is completely dependent on it.

However, it has a problem: if it is exposed to the atmosphere without protection, it rusts. Therefore, it is necessary to preserve it from corrosion.

This term corrosion is a concept accepted today by most design and project specialists. The damages it causes are much more frequent than you might think and, once started, its repair is technically complex and economically very expensive.

There are different procedures to protect steel from corrosion.

The most widely used is hot-dip galvanizing, which consists of applying a zinc coating to steel materials by immersing them in a bath of molten zinc.
